O’Reilly Auto Parts is planning to open a new location in West Asheville, taking over the former Gold’s Gym location at 1047 Patton Avenue.
Gold’s Gym on Patton Avenue was one of two remaining Asheville locations, along with a location at Oakley Plaza on Fairview Road. The chain once had three Asheville locations, including a South Asheville gym on Hendersonville Road that closed in January 2024. The Patton Avenue location closed on April 16th, leaving the building vacant.
O’Reilly Auto Parts plans a full gut renovation of the space. Interior work will include demolishing the existing ceiling, lighting, electrical systems, restrooms, doors, partitions and ductwork before rebuilding the space for retail use. New construction will include updated partitions, ceilings, lighting, power and data infrastructure, ADA-compliant restrooms and new doors. The exterior will also be refreshed with new paint, a new storefront and new exterior doors.
O’Reilly Auto Parts is one of the largest auto parts retailers in the country, with more than 6,000 stores across the United States. The company sells automotive parts, tools, supplies and accessories to both everyday customers and professional service technicians.
No opening date has been announced.
